      "summary": "Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, the U.S.-led war on terrorism\nhas\nevolved from ridding Afghanistan of the ruling Taliban regime and seeking to prevent Al Qaeda\nfrom using the nation as a base for worldwide operations to encompass confronting and defeating\nterrorism in a number of countries. Many countries and international organizations have become\ninvolved in the war on terrorism, ranging from military support and basing rights to reconstruction\nassistance and diplomatic support. \n \n This report summarizes international support for the ongoing war on terrorism, based largely\non information from open source materials regarding the diplomatic, intelligence, law enforcement,\nfinancial, and military contributions of international organizations and individual nations. The report\ndoes not cover international contributions to postwar Iraq or involvement in the U.S.-led coalition\nin the Iraq war.
