Serious labor rights abuses have\nbeen reported in many of these factories. All of the codes sampled in this report mandate labor\nstandards that are consistent with International Labor Organization core covenants and China's Labor\nLaw. The standards compared in this report pertain to: child labor, forced labor, disciplinary actions,\ndiscrimination, health and safety, and the environment. However, many of the codes do not provide\nextensive guidelines for monitoring and verifying compliance. This report will be updated as\nwarranted.", "type": "CRS Report", "typeId": "REPORTS", "active": false, "formats": [ { "format": "HTML", "encoding": "utf-8", "url": "http://www.crs.gov/Reports/RL31862", "sha1": "5a49b55db6d7802655539560e59618eaf8978705", "filename": "files/20030423_RL31862_5a49b55db6d7802655539560e59618eaf8978705.html", "images": null }, { "format": "PDF", "encoding": null, "url": "http://www.crs.gov/Reports/pdf/RL31862", "sha1": "294760c768cc55001248452fa4bd2745e5e2567d", "filename": "files/20030423_RL31862_294760c768cc55001248452fa4bd2745e5e2567d.pdf", "images": null } ], "topics": [] } ], "topics": [ "Foreign Affairs", "National Defense" ] }
